History:
Adam grew up in a middle class family in Yorkshire. He had a happy upbringing but fell in with the wrong crowd at school. He turned into a thug and was one of the most feared people at his school. His bad attitude and willingness to pick a fight with anyone followed him when he left school and got his first job at a racing yard.

He started with mucking out the stables and putting horses into the walker, as well as turning them out and grooming them. Within his first three months of work he had been in seven fights and had broken three bones in other peoples' bodies. He was relegated to mucking out only until he adjusted his attitude. Keen to do more at work, he kept himself in check and slowly worked his way up. He still got into fights outside of work, especially when he went drinking with other men from the stables, but otherwise he evened out a little.

He got to a level where he could train young horses. He was too big to be a jockey but he could back the horses and get them ready for the race course. It wasn't until he saw how some of the others trained the horses that he had a huge turning point. After witnessing his boss beating a young, promising race horse around the head, Adam had multiple revelations all at once. The first was that it was not a place he wanted to work at, the second was the realisation that actually he really liked working with horses, and the third was that he didn't want to be a thug any more.

He got in touch with a young woman who worked in horse rehabilitation. They had sent a few of their problem horses to her in the past and she had bought a broken down stallion from them to build back up and sell on, saving him from being put down. It turned out he called at the right time and she needed the help, so he moved to Firelight to work. His talent with young, problem horses was a big help and the extra pair of hands around the stables were useful.

Adam and Aithne, the woman from Firelight, slowly grew into good friends and he supported her through what was a difficult time for her. Eventually they got really close. When Aithne's abusive ex decided to pay another visit, after already brutally assaulting her once, and was unfortunate enough for Adam to still be in the house, the thug side was released again. After breaking the guy's arm and throwing him off the grounds, he and Aithne finally came together.

After the birth of their son, Aiden, and their marriage Adam could say he had never been happier in his life.
