... Aithne pulled her jodhpurs off when she got into her bedroom, the cool air gripping at her skin. She shivered and pulled her socks off before rummaging for a clean towel. She found one in the bottom of a drawer and pulled it out triumphantly. She couldn't wait to get into the warm shower, her aching muscles begging for some warmth. She darted out of her room and into the bathroom, flicking the shower on to heat up as she pulled off the vest top and bra she had been wearing. Standing in nothing but pants, she inspected the bruise on her ribs from Rojuk head-butting her. It was an angry purple but fortunately it barely hurt. She grinned to herself as she heart a clatter from the kitchen and Adam's rapid cursing that often followed when things fell out of the cupboard. He made her feel safe, just knowing he was in the house eased the constant paranoia that followed her. She clambered into the shower, sighing happily as the hot water soothed her body. She hummed softly to herself as she let the water cascade down over her, her eyes closed in content. She jumped as she heard something clatter not far away and pressed herself against the back of the shower. Someone was in the bathroom. She knew full well that it was not Adam. He was too much of a gentleman, too nice to barge in on her shower. She reached up to turn off the shower, but just as her fingers grasped the dial the cubicle door was ripped open. She screamed as she came face to face with Kyle, his eyes menacing and a cruel grin spread across his face...
